NFC labels and their use in everyday life

Whatever your motivation, in this article we will try to advise you on how colourful NFC labels can help simplify everyday life.

The aim of this article is to introduce the basic ways of using NFC in the home. We will cover further possibilities individually in separate articles.

What is an NFC label?

An NFC label is, in essence, a small sticker in various colour versions, inside which a contactless NFC chip is hidden. This contactless chip does not need any power supply to function, so it is very small, cheap and can be placed almost anywhere. Every chip is equipped with a unique identification number and, depending on the type, also with a certain amount of memory for data. Thanks to these properties it is suitable for a range of applications in many areas of our lives.

What is the difference between labels from NFCmix.com and original SONY, SAMSUNG, etc. labels?

Apart from price and appearance, none. Phone manufacturers try to create the impression that if you have, for example, a SAMSUNG phone, only SAMSUNG TecTiles labels will work on it, but that is not the case. NFC technology is universal and the same in all phones. This means that any NFC labels, tags, stickers, key fobs and so on will work on any phone. So if you are thinking about buying NFC labels, you do not have to fixate on labels of the same brand as your phone. Take a look at our offering, for example - you are sure to choose suitable labels with a design exactly to your needs and save money on top of it!

Automating functions in your mobile phone and switching profiles

Probably the most common use of NFC labels among people is switching mobile phone profiles. Are you also bothered by the constant evening lowering of the volume, setting the alarm, the morning restoration of the daytime ringtone level, turning on Bluetooth in the car, turning it off when you leave the car? Every one of us has to adjust the phone's behaviour many times a day - and above all, not forget to do so. There is nothing worse than a phone ringing at night or in the middle of a meeting.

This is precisely where NFC can help. Using a specialized app, you can set the exact profile of the phone's behaviour and pair this profile with an NFC label that you stick, for example, on your bedside table or in the car. To switch the profile you then just hold the phone up to the NFC label and the default behaviour is set in an instant. It is precisely at this moment that those multi-coloured pictorial NFC labels that you can discover in our e-shop come in handy. Each of them is designed for a different purpose - so you will choose a label with an alarm clock, a car, a little house or, for example, a universal one with just the NFC logo.

If you are unsure, ask us on our online chat, which you will find in the bottom right corner - we have it here just for you!

Use of an NFC label stuck in a phone holder in the car. After inserting the phone, Bluetooth turns on, the brightness and ringtone level increase. After removing the phone, everything returns to its original values.

Other uses

As we already mentioned in the introduction to this article, the uses of NFC technology are far from over with the options listed. It is very often used for marketing, identification of people, asset and animal records, entry, payment and other systems. We will, however, cover these uses in individual articles.
