When considering the production of a specific NFC tag or object, we recommend proceeding as follows:
1. Consider your intention, how to use NFC. From that derives what chip is needed and, subsequently, everything else.
2. Think about where the NFC will be applied. If it is to be attached to metal, then a tag with a shielded NFC antenna must be produced. The strength of the adhesive used may also be important, or the resistance of the material to weather conditions and temperature differences.
3. If your tag is to be specific in design, then it is necessary to reckon with the fact that different materials can be printed by different methods, and not all ideas may be easy to realise.
4. Are you going to upload to the tag data that you already know in advance? Then it is worth encoding the tags already in production, when it is less time-consuming. Encoding manually takes time, and you have to obtain special software.
5. Do not forget that custom tags can only be produced from a certain quantity, and given the specific production, at minimum quantities the price, which decreases significantly with quantity, is often considerably higher.
